Railway Operative

We service Essex, London, Suffolk, Surrey, Kent, and Hertfordshire. Our services include rail, highways, and utilities, supplying plant, equipment, and highly experienced operatives. Civilarb holds industry-specific accreditations such as RISQS and Construction Line Gold.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Railway Operative based locally to Basildon, Essex. The Railway Operative will be responsible for maintaining railway lines encompassing the M25 and within Kent.

Experience

Experience in the railway environment is essential, however non-PTS holders with experience on London Underground, DLR and/or Trams are welcomed for interview.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring track safety, removing vegetation, civils and use of power tools.
• Daily tasks will include operating machinery, manual labour, adhering to safety regulations, and collaborating with team members to ensure the smooth operation of railway services.

Interview requirements

• Experience in operational railways.
• Full UK drivers Licence.
• Proficiency in operating plant and equipment.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
• Holding a Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification is advantageous but not essential.
